Range Riders

The Xaxli’p Range Riders work to encourage and protect Ntsuwa7lhkálha T’lákmen (Our way of life) within Xaxli’p Survival Territory. They work to reinforce a Xaxli’pmex presence within Xaxli’p Survival Territory through maintaining a physical presence on the land. They also work with the Xaxli’p Community Forest and the Xaxli’p community to take care of the land.  This work will gradually reflect the authority of Xaxli’pmex to outsiders and trespassers of the Xaxli’p Survival Territory. The goal of the Range Riders is to demonstrate Xaxli’p authority over Xaxli’p Survival Territory through use and occupancy including, protecting the land through regular range patrols, involving the community and educating youth on Ntsuwa7lhkálha Tíákmen (Our way of life) and, encouraging the use and occupancy of Xaxli’p Survival Territory through special projects such as the Xaxli’p cabin project and Xaxli’p Youth Culture Camps.  The Range Riders are Larry Narcisse and Jammie Charlie.
